JK Wins the 2010 Alamo Classic OD39 Regatta!!!!!!!!!

2010 Alamo Classic OD39 Regatta
4/3/2010

What a great day! What started out as a bit of apprehension with having the Regatta on Easter weekend, really worked out well. The parking at the lake was not a problem and having all the extra spectators from the Easter weekend campers was actually a treat. Perfect winds at 5-10mph all day from East to Southeast. 13 races ran from 12 noon to 4:30pm. With all the usual WSC Pirates in attendance, it was great to actually get back Cris Conniger on the water after a year and half away from RC sailing. With Sheryl Oliveira as RD, we were assured of a tight ship on the barge. Her voice actually raised when too many skippers stayed hacking around the finish line when other were still finishing. Even after racing was done and all skippers headed up to the beer and left over food from lunch, there was Sheryl working down on the barge all by herself tabulating the scores using that wireless connected pencil!!! She did a great job. Lunch was once again done by the master BBQer Tony, and the food set-up staff of Mama Seta and Anna Merrit. Everyone knew Cristina was there in spirit with the legendary beans. With Desserts being supplied by various skippers, you knew that once again no one would go home hungry! Results and Photos will be posted on the WSC website soon as Eric will do the usual honors. But I will give you a taste.
